In Loving Memory of Russell Taylor

The community of North Little Rock is mourning the heartbreaking and tragic loss of 47-year-old Russell Taylor, whose life was taken far too soon in a shooting early Tuesday morning, March 3, 2026. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and neighbors reeling with grief as they try to process the devastating circumstances surrounding his death.

The Tragic Incident

According to the North Little Rock Police Department, officers responded at approximately 6:28 a.m. to 2401 Lakeview Road at the Foothills Apartments complex after receiving reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, they found Russell inside an apartment suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the suspect as 41-year-old Courtney Taylor, also of North Little Rock. Investigators confirmed that the victim and the suspect were brothers. Courtney Taylor was taken into custody without incident and, following an interview with detectives, was charged with Capital Murder, Possession of Firearms by Certain Persons, and multiple drug-related offenses, including possession of Schedule II substances — cocaine, oxycodone, and hydrocodone — as well as Schedule VI with intent to deliver. He is currently being held without bond at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.

While the legal process moves forward, the focus for many remains on remembering the life of Russell Taylor and supporting those who are grieving this immense loss.
