In Loving Memory of Alex Pfeiffer

    In Loving Memory of

    Alex Pfeiffer

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alex Pfeiffer, a legendary figure in the drifting world and a proud resident of Sonora. Born and raised in Honolulu, Alex’s journey was one fueled by passion, determination, and an unwavering love for motorsports. His loss is deeply felt not only by his family and friends but also by the countless drivers and fans whose lives he influenced both on and off the track.

Alex’s love for driving began at an early age. Growing up in Honolulu, he was captivated by the mechanics of cars and the thrill of speed. While attending Kaimuki High School, that fascination grew into a calling. He immersed himself in the culture of cars, learning not just how they worked but how they could be pushed to their limits. Those formative years laid the foundation for a career that would help shape the drifting community in the United States.

From the early 2000s, Alex stood out as a driver who was far ahead of his time. In an era when drifting was still carving out its place in American motorsports, he approached the sport with boldness and creativity. His driving style was aggressive yet controlled, innovative yet deeply rooted in respect for the craft. Many compared his skill and technical precision to the pioneering Japanese drivers who first popularized drifting, and he carried that influence with pride while forging his own distinct path.

On the track, Alex was fearless. He attacked corners with confidence, pushing boundaries while maintaining remarkable control. Spectators were captivated by his precision, his fluid transitions, and his unmistakable presence behind the wheel. But beyond the smoke and roar of engines, what truly set Alex apart was his heart.

Within the drifting community, he was affectionately known as “everybody’s big brother.” He welcomed newcomers with open arms, offering guidance without ego and advice without judgment. He believed the sport was stronger when drivers supported one another, and he lived that belief every day. Whether tuning a car late into the night, walking a fellow driver through race-day nerves, or celebrating someone else’s success as if it were his own, Alex embodied camaraderie.

One of the most cherished aspects of his personality was his love of “talking story” — the Hawaiian tradition of sharing experiences, laughter, and wisdom through conversation. Alex could often be found surrounded by friends, recounting tales from the track, offering insights on technique, or simply enjoying the bond that motorsports created. His storytelling wasn’t about spotlighting himself; it was about connection. He made people feel included, valued, and inspired.

As drifting evolved and grew in popularity, Alex remained a constant — a bridge between generations of drivers. Younger competitors looked up to him not only for his talent but for his authenticity. He showed them that greatness in the sport required not just skill, but integrity and humility. He demonstrated that passion could coexist with patience, and that mentorship was just as important as competition.

Beyond the track, Alex was a devoted friend and beloved family member. Those closest to him speak of his loyalty, his humor, and his unwavering support. He carried the spirit of Hawaii with him wherever he went — a spirit of warmth, respect, and community. Even after settling in Sonora, he remained deeply connected to his roots, honoring the values and culture that shaped him.

The drifting world has lost a pioneer, but more importantly, it has lost a guiding presence. The sound of engines and the sight of tire smoke will forever carry echoes of his influence. Every young driver who dares to push a little harder, every team that comes together in mutual support, and every late-night garage conversation filled with laughter stands as a testament to Alex’s enduring impact.

Though his passing leaves an undeniable void, his legacy continues in the sport he loved and the people he uplifted. Alex Pfeiffer will be remembered not only as a fearless and innovative driver, but as a mentor, a storyteller, and a brother to many.

May his memory ride on with every drift, every turn, and every story shared in his honor.

    In Loving Memory of

    Rabbi Andrea Weiss

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Rabbi Andrea Weiss, 64, Provost of Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in Fairfield. Rabbi Weiss was a guiding light within the Jewish community — a gifted scholar, devoted educator, and compassionate mentor whose influence extended far beyond the walls of academia. Her life’s work enriched countless minds and souls, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

Rabbi Weiss was widely admired for her extraordinary intellect and her deep understanding of biblical texts. A distinguished scholar of biblical poetry and scripture, she had a rare ability to illuminate ancient words with fresh meaning and contemporary relevance. Her teachings invited students not merely to read sacred texts, but to wrestle with them, cherish them, and find their own voices within them. Through her scholarship, she revealed the depth, beauty, and emotional resonance embedded within Jewish tradition.

Those who studied under her remember a teacher who was both brilliant and approachable — someone whose academic rigor was balanced by genuine warmth. She challenged her students to think critically while nurturing their confidence and curiosity. In her classroom, sacred study was not an abstract pursuit; it was alive, dynamic, and deeply personal. She believed that Torah study could transform lives, and through her guidance, it often did.

As Provost of Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion, Rabbi Weiss played a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s academic and spiritual vision. She helped cultivate an environment where scholarship and faith coexisted harmoniously, and where intellectual exploration was encouraged alongside spiritual growth. Her leadership was marked by integrity, clarity, and a profound respect for both tradition and innovation.

Beyond her scholarship and administrative leadership, Rabbi Weiss was a mentor in the truest sense of the word. She guided aspiring rabbis, writers, and scholars with patience and attentiveness. Many credit her with helping them discover not only their academic strengths but also their moral and spiritual compass. She listened deeply, offered thoughtful counsel, and encouraged others to pursue their callings with courage and authenticity.

Colleagues recall her as genuine and kind — a collaborator who valued dialogue and mutual respect. Her presence fostered reflection and thoughtful conversation. She approached challenges with wisdom and steadiness, always seeking solutions grounded in compassion and principle. Her ability to balance intellectual depth with heartfelt care made her both respected and beloved within her professional community.

Rabbi Weiss’s contributions reached far beyond the classroom or campus. Through her lectures, writings, and community engagement, she strengthened Jewish learning and identity in meaningful ways. She inspired individuals to embrace tradition while engaging thoughtfully with the modern world. Her teachings encouraged people to approach scripture not only with reverence, but with openness and curiosity.

The loss of Rabbi Weiss leaves a profound void in the Jewish community and in the hearts of all who knew her. Yet her legacy endures in the countless lives she shaped. Every student who opens a sacred text with renewed wonder, every rabbi who leads with wisdom and compassion, and every scholar who seeks truth with humility carries forward a piece of her influence.

In mourning her passing, we also give thanks for the remarkable gift of her life. Rabbi Andrea Weiss demonstrated that scholarship can be an act of devotion, that teaching can be an expression of love, and that leadership can be rooted in humility and grace. Her memory will remain a blessing — a beacon of learning, faith, and compassion for generations to come.

May her soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life, and may her teachings continue to illuminate the path for all who seek wisdom.

Leo’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the wider community. Yet even in grief, there is deep gratitude for the beautiful memories he created and the countless lives he touched.

Leo was more than a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend — he was a steady light in a world that often feels uncertain. Those who knew him best describe him as compassionate, dependable, and sincere. His warmth was not loud or boastful; it was quiet and consistent. It was in the reassuring smile he offered during difficult times, the thoughtful words he shared when someone needed encouragement, and the simple yet powerful way he made others feel seen and understood.

  • In Loving Memory of Coel Tainton

In Loving Memory of Coel Tainton

In Loving Memory of Coel Tainton

With profound sorrow and hearts weighed down by grief, the family of Coel Tainton have paid tribute to their “beloved” son as they shared a photograph honoring his life and memory. At just 24 years old, Coel’s life was tragically taken far too soon, leaving behind a devastated family and a community struggling to come to terms with the loss.

Coel was found shortly after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, 28 February, at a property in Ryeland Gardens in The Meadows, Nottingham. Emergency services attended the scene, but despite efforts made, his life could not be saved. The news sent shockwaves through the neighborhood and beyond, marking a heartbreaking morning for all who knew and loved him.

In a deeply moving tribute, his family described Coel as their “beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend to so many.” Their words paint a picture of a young man whose presence brought warmth and strength to everyone around him.

“Coel was loving, caring, and fiercely protective of those he held close,” they shared. “His heart was big, generous, and full of kindness. He had a precious soul and a contagious laugh that could light up any room and touch everyone around him.

“He brought joy, warmth, and comfort to our lives in countless ways. His humour, strength, and endless love will forever remain in our hearts.

“Though words cannot express the depth of our loss, we know his love surrounds us still. He will be so sadly missed, deeply cherished, and loved forever.”

Those who knew Coel echo these sentiments, remembering him as someone who lived with loyalty and sincerity. He was the type of person who showed up when it mattered, who stood firmly by the people he cared about, and who never hesitated to offer support or a listening ear. His laughter, described as infectious and unforgettable, had a way of easing tension and filling spaces with light.

At 24, Coel was at a stage in life filled with potential — dreams forming, plans unfolding, and a future that should have stretched far ahead. His sudden passing has left loved ones grappling not only with grief but with the cruel reality of what might have been. Milestones he was meant to reach and memories yet to be created now exist only in imagination.

Following the discovery, Nottinghamshire Police launched a murder investigation. Authorities later confirmed that Jack Preston, 34, has been charged with murder, assault by beating of an emergency worker, and a public order offence. Preston, of Ryeland Gardens, was remanded in custody and was due to appear before magistrates in Nottingham on 4 March. The legal process now begins, but for Coel’s family, no court proceeding can restore what has been lost.

As the investigation continues, the focus for many remains firmly on celebrating Coel’s life rather than dwelling solely on the tragedy of his death. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his humour, his fierce protectiveness, and above all, his immense capacity to love. His family’s tribute speaks not only of sorrow but of enduring connection — a reminder that while his physical presence is gone, the love he gave so freely continues to surround them.

In The Meadows and across Nottingham, tributes and messages of support have reflected the profound impact Coel had in his 24 years. Friends have shared memories of his kindness, his resilience, and the comfort he offered in difficult times. For many, he was more than a friend — he was family by choice, someone whose bond ran deep and true.

To his family — his parents, siblings, extended relatives, and countless friends — the days ahead will be marked by both mourning and remembrance. They carry forward his spirit in every shared story, every smile sparked by memory, and every act of kindness done in his honour.

Though taken too soon, Coel Tainton’s life mattered deeply. He was loved beyond measure, and that love does not fade with his passing. It lives on — in hearts that will forever hold him close, in laughter that echoes his own, and in the enduring warmth of a soul that touched so many.

Rest peacefully, Coel. You were cherished in life, and you will be cherished always.

In Loving Memory of Michael Mingey

In Loving Memory of Michael Mingey

With heavy hearts, family, friends, and the entire community mourn the tragic passing of Michael Mingey, 27, of Lancaster, whose life was suddenly and heartbreakingly cut short on the evening of March 3, 2026. His passing leaves a void that words can scarcely fill, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

On Tuesday night, just before 9:30 p.m., the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, was notified of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US-127 (Hustonville Road) and West Shelby Street in Boyle County. According to the ongoing investigation, a deputy with the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office was operating a 2023 black Dodge Durango northbound on US-127 and attempting to make a left turn onto West Shelby Street. As the deputy proceeded through the intersection, a 2023 black Hyundai Elantra traveling southbound on US-127 collided with the vehicle.

That Hyundai Elantra was driven by Michael Mingey.

In the aftermath of the collision, Michael was rushed to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, where medical staff worked diligently and tirelessly to save him. Despite their heroic efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. Eric Guerrant officially pronounced him deceased. The loss was immediate and devastating, sending waves of grief throughout Lancaster and neighboring communities.

Yet Michael was far more than the tragic circumstances that led to his passing. He was a beloved son, a treasured family member, a loyal friend, and a valued presence in the lives of many. At just 27 years old, he stood in the prime of his life — a season filled with hope, promise, and dreams still unfolding. His future held plans yet to be realized and milestones yet to be celebrated.

Those who knew Michael speak of his genuine spirit and kind heart. He carried himself with a quiet strength, a steady presence that made others feel safe and understood. His smile had a way of lifting the room, and his laughter was a sound that brought comfort and joy to those fortunate enough to hear it. Whether he was offering a helping hand, sharing a thoughtful word, or simply showing up when it mattered most, Michael made a lasting impression on everyone around him.

In Lancaster, where community ties run deep and neighbors look out for one another, his absence is profoundly felt. Friends recall late-night conversations, shared memories, and the simple everyday moments that now feel infinitely precious. Family members hold tightly to the love he gave so freely — a love that will never fade, even in his physical absence.

Tragedies like this remind us how fragile and precious life truly is. One moment, an ordinary evening unfolds; the next, everything changes. The intersection of US-127 and West Shelby Street will forever hold a somber significance for those who loved Michael, marking the place where time seemed to stand still.

As the investigation continues, the focus for many remains on honoring Michael’s life rather than the details of the accident. He will be remembered not for how he died, but for how he lived — with sincerity, warmth, and a heart open to others. His story does not end with that night; it continues in the memories shared, the lessons learned, and the love that endures.

In the days and weeks ahead, the community will gather — in homes, in churches, in quiet spaces of reflection — to support one another and to celebrate a life taken far too soon. Candles will be lit, prayers will be whispered, and stories will be told, each one keeping Michael’s spirit alive.

To his family, no words can ease the depth of this sorrow. But may they find comfort in knowing how deeply he was loved and how widely his presence was cherished. May they feel surrounded by compassion and strengthened by the outpouring of support from friends, neighbors, and even strangers moved by his story.

Though his time on this earth was brief, Michael Mingey’s impact was lasting. His memory will live on in every smile inspired by his kindness, in every act of generosity done in his honor, and in every heart that carries his name forward.

Rest peacefully, Michael. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.

He carried with him the values instilled in him from a young age: respect, perseverance, and compassion. The pride they felt in his service was matched only by the love they had for the young man behind the uniform.

    A Community United in Grief

The loss of Devinn Wall is felt far beyond his immediate circle. The Abilene community, along with the military family at Dyess Air Force Base, has come together in shared mourning. In moments like these, the bonds between service members and neighbors grow even stronger, as they rally to support one another through grief.

While authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash, those who knew Devinn choose to focus on the life he lived rather than the tragedy that took him. His story is one of bravery, service, and youthful promise.

Devinn’s watch may have ended far too soon, but his legacy endures — in the pride of his service, in the friendships he forged, and in the love that surrounds his memory. May his family find comfort in knowing he was respected and admired, and may his fellow airmen carry forward his spirit of dedication and honor.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always honored for both his service and the light he brought into the lives of others.
