With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we remember the life of Tristan Young, a vibrant 20-year-old from Haynesville whose life was tragically cut short on February 23 in Minden. What began as an ordinary Monday morning became a day of unimaginable grief for his family, friends, and the entire north Webster Parish community.

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of LA Highway 160 and Fire Tower Road. Tristan was traveling southbound on Fire Tower Road in his 1995 Toyota Tercel when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle entered the intersection and collided with a 2019 Mack Pinnacle log truck traveling west on Highway 160. The impact was devastating.

Authorities confirmed that Tristan was not wearing a seatbelt and tragically passed away at the scene. Two passengers were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. As investigators continue their work, the focus for many remains on honoring the young life that was lost far too soon.
