According to the Unified Police, authorities were notified around 12:32 p.m. of an avalanche near Brighton Ski Resort. First responders rushed to the scene, where Madelyn’s family and approximately 20 other individuals were already searching for her. In a desperate bid to find her, her brother, Cameron Eitas, used a mobile application to locate her. Emergency personnel quickly administered life-saving measures before transporting Madelyn to a hospital, where she was placed in critical condition. Despite the heroic efforts of both family and first responders, Madelyn tragically passed away. Her family was also transported for care and support in the aftermath of this devastating event.
