The community of Stockton is mourning the tragic loss of a young man known as JB, a 21-year-old member of the North Stockton X4 community, who was fatally shot Saturday evening in the Bear Creek District. His death has left family, friends, and neighbors in shock, grappling with the sudden and senseless violence.

According to the Stockton Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:35 p.m. to the 9500 block of Bancroft Way following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds: JB, a 22-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old man. Police noted that one of the men sustained only a graze wound. All three victims were transported to a local hospital, where JB later succumbed to his injuries. The conditions of the other two victims have not been released.

Detectives responded to the scene and have since taken over the investigation. As of now, no suspect information has been made public, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Stockton Police. This tragic incident marks the city’s third homicide of 2026, compared to five at the same point last year, underscoring the ongoing struggles the community faces with violence.
