In Loving Memory of
Tuscaloosa County — With deep sorrow, we remember and honor the life of Haley G. Lancaster, 43, of Brookwood, whose life was tragically lost in a head-on collision Tuesday night. Her sudden passing has left family, friends, and the wider community grieving a loss that words can scarcely express.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred around 8:05 p.m. on February 17 along Alabama Highway 69 near the 155-mile marker, approximately seven miles north of Tuscaloosa. Officials reported that Haley was driving a Hyundai Sonata when it collided head-on with a Ford Expedition driven by 45-year-old Elizabeth Broemlage of Northport. Haley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities also confirmed that a 12-year-old passenger in the Ford Expedition was injured. Both Broemlage and the juvenile were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been publicly released. Senior Trooper Gregory Corble stated that Haley was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are urging motorists to remain attentive, wear seat belts, and exercise caution on highways.
While these are the facts surrounding that heartbreaking evening, they do not define Haley’s life. She was far more than a traffic report or a statistic. At 43 years old, Haley was in a season of life filled with purpose and connection. She was a daughter, a friend, a loved one whose presence brought warmth to those around her. Her laughter, her voice, and the care she extended to others are the memories that now carry her legacy forward.
Those who knew Haley will remember her for her kindness and resilience — the quiet strength she demonstrated in life’s everyday moments. She built meaningful relationships and shared love generously. Her sudden absence leaves an emptiness that cannot be replaced, a silence that echoes deeply in the hearts of those who loved her most.
Tragedies like this remind us how fragile life truly is. In a single moment, everything can change. As the investigation continues, the focus for those who mourn is on celebrating the life Haley lived — the joy she gave, the memories she created, and the love that will endure long after her passing.
May her family find comfort in one another during this painful time.
May friends honor her memory by cherishing the moments they shared.
And may Haley G. Lancaster rest in eternal peace — forever remembered, forever loved.
