In Loving Memory of Edgar Abdon Barraza

The communities of Midland and Glasscock County are mourning the heartbreaking loss of 28-year-old Edgar Abdon Barraza, whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating two-vehicle crash on the evening of February 17. What began as an ordinary Tuesday evening along SH 158 near mile marker 314 became a scene of unimaginable sorrow, leaving family, friends, and neighbors struggling to process the loss of a young man in the prime of his life.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. when a semi traveling northwest in the left lane attempted to turn onto a lease road. At the same time, Edgar was driving his Chevrolet Silverado, also northwest-bound. For reasons still under investigation, his vehicle struck the rear of the trailer. The collision caused the Silverado to catch fire, and despite wearing his seatbelt, Edgar was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in serious condition. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
