In Loving Memory of Dawson Adams — Fayetteville Mourns Young Life Lost in Tragic Multi-Vehicle Crash
With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, the Fayetteville and Cumberland County communities mourn the tragic loss of Dawson Adams, a 19-year-old whose life was cut short in a deadly multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 North early Saturday morning. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 2:12 a.m. near mile marker 63. Troopers said a Ford Explorer and a GMC pickup truck were disabled on the highway following an earlier collision when tragedy struck. A charter bus carrying 40 passengers traveling north subsequently collided with the stopped Explorer and GMC pickup truck. Moments later, a northbound tractor-trailer crashed into the GMC pickup, pushing it into a concrete barrier.
Dawson, who was driving the GMC pickup, was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Two other individuals sustained injuries in the crash, and emergency crews were seen evaluating several passengers from the charter bus at the scene. The collision involved a charter bus, an Amazon van, the GMC pickup, and an SUV, leaving vehicles scattered across the highway and creating a scene of devastation.
Beyond the tragic circumstances of that early morning, Dawson Adams was a young man full of promise, energy, and a bright future ahead.
