In Loving Memory of Cody Clark
GREENFIELD, Hancock County — The Greenfield community and Hancock County are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Cody Clark, 32, whose life was tragically cut short on the afternoon of February 14, 2026. What was meant to be a day celebrating love and togetherness became a day of unimaginable sorrow for his family, friends, and neighbors when a devastating head-on collision on State Road 9 claimed his life.
At approximately 1:40 p.m., deputies with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Greenfield Police Department responded to a severe crash near 3700 N. State Road 9. The collision involved two vehicles traveling in opposite directions: a 2019 Ford Fusion driven solely by Cody Clark, and a 2013 Cadillac Escalade driven by 45-year-old Adam Hunt, also of Greenfield. For reasons still under investigation, Cody’s vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with the Escalade. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but despite their efforts, Cody was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Cody Clark was more than the driver involved in a tragic accident. He was a devoted son, a loyal friend, a supportive neighbor, and a beloved member of his community. Those who knew him remember his familiar smile, his steady presence, and the gentle strength of his spirit. Cody had a way of making those around him feel seen and valued, whether through a kind word, a shared laugh, or simply being there in times of need.
Family and friends recall the warmth and authenticity that defined Cody’s life. His laughter was infectious, his generosity genuine, and his compassion unwavering. He nurtured meaningful relationships, celebrated life’s joys with humility, and offered support to anyone who needed it. Though his time was far too short, the memories he created—big and small—will continue to bring comfort to those who loved him.
The impact of Cody’s passing resonates beyond his immediate circle. The Greenfield community mourns not only the life lost but the promise of a future that will now remain unrealized. Colleagues, neighbors, and acquaintances alike remember Cody for his kindness, his sincerity, and the way he consistently lifted others through his presence and actions. In every interaction, he left a mark of warmth and understanding that will not be forgotten.
Valentine’s Day, a day traditionally reserved for love and celebration, will forever bear a more somber meaning for Cody’s family. The sudden loss of someone irreplaceable brings an indescribable weight, one that cannot be eased by words alone. Yet, amidst the sorrow, there is solace in the memories shared: the laughter, the care, and the love that Cody offered unconditionally. These moments endure, providing a lasting connection to a life that touched so many.
Cody Clark’s legacy is one of strength, love, and humanity. Though his journey ended tragically and unexpectedly, the imprint of his life—the kindness he shared, the bonds he nurtured, and the joy he brought to those around him—will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community. Greenfield and Hancock County honor his memory, remembering a man whose presence made life brighter, whose spirit brought comfort, and whose life, though tragically brief, will forever be cherished.
In grieving Cody’s loss, the community also celebrates his life—a life defined by love, laughter, and the quiet yet profound ways he made the world a better place.
