VASS, N.C. — The Woodlake community of Moore County is mourning the tragic loss of two young adults following a double homicide that occurred early Saturday morning. Deputies from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:45 a.m. on February 14, 2026, to reports of a shooting at a residence on Daphne Lane. Upon arrival, authorities discovered two adults, ages 28 and 21, deceased inside the home.

The victims’ identities are being withheld pending family notification.
