In Loving Memory of Dianne Clause — A Life of Kindness and Grace Remembered in Papillion

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we gather to honor and remember Dianne Clause, whose life was tragically taken on February 27, 2026, following a devastating crash in Papillion. Her passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the entire community that was blessed to know her.

At approximately 5:57 p.m., first responders from the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, Papillion Police Department, Papillion Fire & Rescue, and Bellevue Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a serious personal injury crash at the intersection of Highway 370 and 66th Street. Despite their swift and courageous efforts, the collision would ultimately claim the life of a beloved 74-year-old member of the Papillion community.

According to preliminary reports, the crash involved a black Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Honda CR-V. The Honda was traveling eastbound on Highway 370 and attempting to turn left onto 66th Street, while the Jeep was traveling westbound straight through the intersection. The vehicles collided within the intersection, resulting in serious injuries to several individuals and the heartbreaking loss of Dianne’s life.

Dianne was transported to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy, where, despite every medical effort, she was tragically pronounced deceased. Three other passengers in the Honda were treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Jeep and one passenger were also hospitalized with serious injuries. Though others survived, the emotional scars of that evening will linger for all involved.

Yet today, beyond the flashing lights and investigative details, we focus on the woman Dianne Clause was — a life defined not by tragedy, but by love, compassion, and unwavering strength.

At 74 years old, Dianne carried with her decades of cherished memories, lessons learned, and relationships nurtured. She understood the true meaning of community. She believed in kindness — not the grand, showy kind, but the steady, consistent acts of care that quietly change lives. A warm smile, a thoughtful check-in, a gentle word of encouragement — these were the hallmarks of her character.

To her family, Dianne was a pillar — dependable, loving, and wise. She offered guidance without judgment and support without hesitation. Her home was a place of comfort. Her presence brought reassurance. She celebrated milestones with joy and stood steady during difficult times, reminding those around her that love and resilience go hand in hand.

Friends remember her as gracious and genuine. She had a way of making others feel valued, truly listening and engaging with sincerity. Conversations with Dianne were meaningful; her laughter was heartfelt. She had lived enough life to understand what truly mattered — relationships, faith, kindness, and gratitude for each new day.

Her passing is a solemn reminder of life’s fragility. An ordinary evening turned tragic in a matter of moments. And yet, even in grief, there is gratitude — gratitude for 74 years of a life well lived, for the love she gave so freely, and for the legacy she leaves behind.

The Papillion community mourns alongside her family, holding tightly to memories of Dianne’s gentle spirit and enduring warmth. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her influence remains — in the lives she shaped, the values she modeled, and the love that continues to ripple outward.

May her family find comfort in the outpouring of support that surrounds them. May they draw strength from shared memories and from the knowledge that Dianne Clause’s life made a difference — quietly, faithfully, and beautifully.

Though she has gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to shine as a light of kindness and grace for all who knew her.
