In Loving Memory of Michael Sebourn
With heavy hearts, we pause to remember and honor the life of Michael Sebourn, a beloved 49-year-old resident of North Little Rock, whose passing has left a quiet ache in the hearts of those who knew him and in the wider community that now mourns his loss.
On the afternoon of February 24, at approximately 3:40 p.m., officers with the North Little Rock Police Department responded to a call in the 1200 block of Brother Paul Drive after reports of a person seen sick or injured. Upon arrival, they discovered Michael’s body lying in a field. What began as a call of concern quickly became a solemn moment for first responders and, soon after, devastating news for family and friends.
Authorities reported that there were no visible signs of trauma to Michael’s body. Detectives initiated a death investigation, and his remains were transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where an autopsy will determine the manner and cause of death. As the investigation continues, those who loved Michael are left grappling with unanswered questions and the deep sorrow that accompanies an unexpected loss.
Yet beyond the circumstances of his passing, Michael Sebourn was more than a headline or a report. He was a son, a friend, a neighbor — a man who walked through life carrying his own stories, experiences, struggles, and triumphs. He lived 49 years filled with moments that mattered: conversations shared, laughter exchanged, challenges faced, and memories created with the people around him.
In a close-knit community like North Little Rock, lives intersect in quiet but meaningful ways. A familiar face seen at a local store, a greeting exchanged in passing, a helping hand offered when needed — these small interactions form the fabric of everyday life. Michael was part of that fabric. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled in quite the same way.
For those who knew him personally, Michael’s life cannot be summed up by a single day. He was a human being with depth and dimension — someone who experienced joy and hardship, who built relationships, and who left an imprint on the hearts of others. In times like these, we are reminded of how fragile life can be and how important it is to hold our loved ones close.
As his family awaits further answers, they also hold tightly to memories — the sound of his voice, the warmth of his presence, the stories only they can tell. Grief is a journey marked by reflection, and in that reflection, love continues to endure. Though Michael’s life ended too soon, the love shared with him does not disappear.
The community stands in quiet solidarity with his loved ones during this painful time. May they find comfort in one another, strength in cherished memories, and peace in knowing that Michael’s life, however unexpectedly it ended, mattered deeply.
We honor Michael Sebourn not only in sorrow but in remembrance — remembering that every life carries significance, every person leaves a mark, and every memory holds value.
Rest in peace, Michael. You will not be forgotten.
