Owensboro Man Arrested in Muhlenberg County on Felony Charge of Sexual Crimes Against Animals

Authorities in Muhlenberg County say a disturbing roadside incident has led to the arrest of an Owensboro man now facing a felony charge.

According to the Central City Police Department, officers responded Saturday to a 911 call reporting a man engaging in sexual activity with a dead deer along Phillip Stone Way in Central City. The caller told dispatchers they witnessed the act on the side of the roadway and immediately contacted authorities.

Police say when officers arrived on the scene, they located 39-year-old Allen Osborne still in the area. According to the arrest report, Osborne allegedly still had his pants down when officers approached him. Investigators stated that blood and deer hair were visible on his clothing. After being transported to the Muhlenberg County jail to change clothes, authorities reported that blood and deer hair were also found on his body.

Osborne has been charged with sexual crimes against animals, which under Kentucky law is classified as a Class D felony. If convicted, the charge carries a potential penalty of one to five years in prison.

The case has sparked strong reactions in the community due to the disturbing nature of the allegations. Law enforcement officials have not released additional details about the investigation, and the case will proceed through the Muhlenberg County court system.

As with all criminal cases, the charge is an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
