In Loving Memory of Ralonda Perry-Watkins

In Loving Memory of Ralonda Perry-Watkins 🕊️💔

The city of Sandusky continues to mourn the heartbreaking loss of 32-year-old Ralonda Perry-Watkins, whose life was tragically cut short on the evening of February 4, 2026. What unfolded inside a home on the 700 block of Sycamore Street has left a family shattered and a community grieving a woman remembered for her presence, her spirit, and the love she shared with those around her.

According to authorities, officers responded at approximately 5:40 p.m. to reports of a shooting at the residence. Upon entering the home, they found Ralonda suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a local hospital, where medical professionals worked tirelessly to save her life. Despite those efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.

An autopsy conducted by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office determined that Ralonda sustained three gunshot wounds. The details of that finding only deepen the sorrow surrounding her loss — a life taken through violence, leaving behind unanswered questions and immeasurable pain.

During the incident, authorities say the suspect barricaded himself on the second floor of the home and was reportedly armed with a knife. Members of a Special Response Team ultimately took him into custody. Officials stated he appeared to have sustained self-inflicted injuries to his neck, arms, and chest.

On February 20, 2026, a grand jury indicted Jerry L. Watkins III, 37, on multiple charges, including two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, kidnapping, felonious assault, intimidation of an attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case, and having weapons while under disability. As the legal process moves forward, the focus for many remains on honoring Ralonda’s life and supporting her loved ones through unimaginable grief.

Ralonda Perry-Watkins was more than a victim of a tragic crime. She was a daughter, a friend, perhaps a mother, a sister — a woman whose life held meaning and connection. At 32 years old, she was in the midst of building her future, creating memories, and shaping her path forward. Those who knew her carry with them the sound of her voice, the warmth of her presence, and the moments that now feel all the more precious.

The suddenness of her passing has left an aching void. Homes feel quieter. Conversations feel heavier. The weight of loss is something her family and friends will carry each day. Yet even in sorrow, love endures. Stories will continue to be told. Her name will continue to be spoken with tenderness and remembrance.

As Sandusky reflects on this tragedy, may the community come together in compassion and support. May Ralonda’s life be remembered not for the violence that ended it, but for the humanity and heart she brought into the lives she touched.

To her family: may you find strength in each other, comfort in cherished memories, and peace in knowing that her life mattered deeply.

Rest peacefully, Ralonda Perry-Watkins. 🕊️

Gone too soon, but forever remembered.
