The close-knit communities of Shepherd and Liberty County are mourning the heartbreaking loss of 24-year-old Logan Barrow, whose life was tragically cut short in a late-night crash.
Around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Cleveland Police Department responded to reports of a single-vehicle rollover accident along FM 787 east of Tarkington Bayou in Liberty County. When they arrived, they discovered a severely damaged blue 2007 Dodge pickup truck in a roadside ditch. The vehicle had also struck a power pole, causing several homes east of the crash site to lose electricity for hours — a stark reminder of the force and suddenness of the collision.
Logan was the sole occupant of the truck.
Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene by Ralph Fuller. The news sent shockwaves through the Shepherd area, where Logan was known and loved.
The Cleveland Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the crash, seeking answers in the wake of such an unimaginable loss. Chief Broussard shared that the department extends its heartfelt prayers and condolences to Logan’s family during this profoundly difficult time.
